Is this the way to Amarillo (Part 1)

Hi it’s me again, Millie,

Mum & Dad have let me do a short blog, before they do the full one because there is something I am desperate to tell you all.

I have squeaked them a lot until they gave in!

Where was I? – Oh yes, telling you a short blog.

Well after we left Memphis, both Mum and Dad are saying that at last we are on the RV Road Trip ‘Out West’ proper (wherever Out West is).

They have told me that we are traveling along the I-40, due West and the journey proper has started.

Well for the last three days, every time we see a sign for a place called Amarillo, they burst into song.

I am sure you all know the one “Is this the way to Amarillo”, well I have heard it so many times I even know the words and that’s not something we dogs do very often, learn human songs.

Every time they start singing it I start squeaking it and even if I say so myself, I am getting pretty good at it.

Just listen to this;

Squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeakillo

Squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeakillow

Squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeakillo

Squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeakme

What do you think?

Pretty good ah?

Now I bet none of my doggy friends on reading this blog have started to squeak it like me, not Trouper, Beau, Gracie, Sweety, Rosie, Bubba, Remi, Poppy, Layla or Babs (although Annabelle might as she is a cat!), but I bet all the human readers will have been squeaking away to the Amarillo tune straight away!

Humans just can’t help themselves sometimes.

Mum and Dad are going to do the next version of this blog title because they want to put some ‘human’ fact s, figures and pictures in, not sure why.

Hi Millie, Just wanted to let you know that not much is happening in the neighborhood. I am keeping an eye on your house. In fact every time I get to your yard I roll around on my back until my mom pulls on me. Everyone says hi and hopes you hurry back soon. Your friend, Bubba

Millie, I know I am a spoiled Chihuahua and have a New York attitude on top of that, but I thought I was your friend too. I was therein Amarillo and would have squeaked your tune with an Arizona frame of mind …and really love your Mom and Dad….. Love Trouper

Oh yes, there’s also a song “Amarillo By Morning”. That ought to add to your repertoire!

Ok. You got me on that one, Millie. I had never even heard of that song. So for any of your readers you might want to include the following You Tube link for their listening enjoyment (although I’m sure your version was far superior) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ld1DTmXesTo.

    Have fun “squeaking.”
